put away if only you are away
show busy when you are really busy
if your reason for an away/ busy status is : "cos i want to put off some people from talking to me", then you have 4 choices
1) block that '(some) people'
2) delete him/ her from your IM so that you will forget about his/ her existence
3) tell that person straight that you have no wish to talk to him/ her
4) uninstall IM from your comp and stop using it completely
